Pursuing are a few tips to take into account when choosing a table lamp for your office or home.

Style

Identify the existing style of the area and determine your look objectives. Take into account that there is no one “right” table lamp – it is very a matter of what style or feeling you want to express – but some alternatives are certainly much better than others.

Light Needs

Identify the function of the lamp in terms of light needs. Is the lamp’s purpose to provide basic area (also called ambient), reading, or accent lamps?

Wattage

If there are other light options in the room, a 60 watt light bulb may provide enough light for a living room. However, only if using one or two lamps to light up an entire room, it could be best to choose 100 to 150 watt light bulb or a 3-way light. This also gives sufficient light for reading. A reading light should offer 150 or more watts. In general, rooms must have a light source every 10 feet or so.

Size

Typically, brief or narrow lamps are more appropriate on smaller desks and bulkier and taller bulbs are better matched on larger dining tables or floors. A lamp located on a buffet desk and other small surface should typically become more slim or shorter. On the petite nesting stand or a slim console, a high and slim candlestick lamp fixture may be the best choice.</p
